“Come as You Are” Sermon Series: April 8 – May 13
“So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are.” – Come as You Are by Crowder
We all are carrying something that makes us feel unworthy. Maybe we have doubts or questions, guilt or shame. Maybe we don’t look like or dress like “respectable” people. Maybe we don’t measure up to the image of the super mom or the strong family provider or the perfect son or daughter or child. Maybe we struggle with addiction or mental illness. Maybe our finances are a wreck, our careers are a disappointment, and our relationships are a mess. For all of us who feel unworthy, there is amazingly good news. God loves you. Right now. Join us to explore the good news of a God whose name and nature is love – and whose love frees us to love ourselves and each other. Journey with us April 8 – May 13 in worship. Come as you are.
“Come as You Are” Small Groups
Week of April 8 – May 6
Tuesdays @ 2 PM or 6:15 PM
It is good that we do not have to journey alone! For five weeks after Easter, journey with other Hanscom Park church members and friends in a place where you can “come as you are.” At each meeting, we will reflect on what it means to be authentic in our faith and in our relationship with God and others. Exploring scripture and themes from the “Come as You Are” sermon series, we will get to know one another, reflect and ask questions together, and pray with and for one another. Two groups will take place at church: Tuesdays at 2 PM and 6:15 PM. If you are interested, you are welcome to just show up at the groups, or ask Pastor Chris for more details (chris@hanscomparkchurch.org).
